Iron Arch Management, LLC, operating 43 McDonald’s locations across Illinois and Wisconsin under the Bucciferro family leadership, announced that 19 Illinois restaurants in ComEd territory have been allocated subscriptions to Community Solar projects, marking a significant expansion of the company’s environmental stewardship efforts. This renewable energy initiative complements the organization’s longstanding community investment programs, which have served local communities for more than 16 years. The 19 participating restaurants will collectively benefit from over 12.5-million kilowatt-hours of clean solar energy. The subscriptions were processed through Solar On Earth, an enrollment specialist with offices in Illinois and Massachusetts, and distributed across 12 Community Solar projects located in Lake, Cook, DuPage, and Will counties. This renewable energy commitment represents a forwardthinking approach to business operations that aligns environmental responsibility with the family’s deep roots in community service.
Measurable Environmental Impact
The Community Solar allocation will offset approximately 5,030 to 8,800 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The equivalent to removing 1,095 to 1,915 passenger vehicles from Illinois roads for a year. This impact takes on heightened significance as Illinois works toward its Climate and Equitable Jobs Act targets of 40% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% clean energy by 2050.
Community Solar allows businesses to support renewable energy development without installing panels on-site, making clean energy accessible to restaurants with leased properties or facilities where rooftop solar isn’t feasible. By subscribing to locally-developed solar farms, Iron Arch’s participating restaurants receive a 10% credit on their utility bills for the clean energy generated while supporting Illinois’ transition away from fossil fuel-based electricity and contributing to the state’s renewable energy job growth—a sector that already employs nearly 6,000 Illinoisans and is projected to expand significantly under recent state legislation.

The Bucciferro family’s commitment to environmental sustainability complements their extensive community service portfolio, which addresses health, hunger, education, and arts across their service areas. For more than 16 years, the organization has maintained sustained partnerships with charitable organizations and hosted signature community events that have become regional traditions.
The annual Great Pumpkin Giveaway, hosted every October in Beloit, Wisconsin, has distributed more than 2,000 pumpkins to local families each year, featuring face painting, character meet-and-greets, games, and promotional offers. Iron Arch maintains partnerships with Ronald McDonald House Charities locations in Madison, Chicago, and Rockford, supporting organizations that collectively serve more than 3,000 families annually.
